How to Use AI Signals for Day Trading: A Practical Guide
AI-generated trading signals are only as useful as your ability to act on them. Here's how to read urgency scores, confidence levels, and move probability to make faster, smarter decisions.
How to Use AI Signals for Day Trading: A Practical Guide
Day trading is a game of speed and edge. By the time most traders hear about a major news event, the market has already moved. MarketSniperX is designed to close that gap — but knowing how to read the signals is just as important as having them.
Understanding the Three Signal Types
BUY — The AI expects the asset to move upward in the short term based on the news catalyst. This is only generated when confidence is above 60%.
SELL — The AI expects downward pressure. Same confidence threshold applies.
NEUTRAL — The news has a clear market impact, but direction is uncertain. A high move probability with a NEUTRAL signal is often a volatility play — the market will move, but direction is a coin flip.
Reading the Confidence Score
Confidence (0–100%) reflects how strongly and clearly the news will move the price:
- 80–100%: Unambiguous catalyst — an FDA approval, confirmed M&A deal, or major earnings beat/miss
- 60–79%: Clear catalyst with some uncertainty
- Below 60%: Signals will always be NEUTRAL — the AI won't guess direction under uncertainty
The Move Probability Metric
Move probability is direction-agnostic. It answers: "How likely is this asset to make a meaningful price move (>0.5%) in the next 30 minutes?"
A 90% move probability with a NEUTRAL signal means something explosive is about to happen — you just can't be sure which way. Options traders and volatility traders should pay close attention here.
Urgency Score (1–10)
Urgency combines confidence and asset class volatility. Crypto and futures get a volatility multiplier. A score of 8+ on a stock signal demands your immediate attention. A score of 4 on a crypto signal may be routine noise.
Practical Workflow
- Open MarketSniperX at market open
- Sort assets by Urgency (highest first)
- Click any asset to see the full signal history and P&L outcomes
- Check the Performance page weekly to evaluate signal accuracy for your trading style
- Only act on signals where you understand the underlying news event
Never trade a signal you don't understand.
